A former undercover officer says there was a secret operation to discredit Stephen Lawrence's family after they criticised how police handled the investigation into his murder.
In 1999 a major inquiry into the case found the police was institutionally racist - but details of a supposed smear campaign didn't come out at the time. The Met hasn't denied that it happened.
Would today's police try to damage victims of crime to protect their own reputation?
