In the feature 'Headline News [Number one albums on noteworthy days]' we hear 'Wooden Heart' from the Elvis Presley soundtrack LP 'G. I. Blues'. It was number one on 3rd December 1960. On this date, the most expensive Broadway musical yet, 'Camelot', opened at the Majestic Theatre. We also hear 'If I Ain't Got You' by Alicia Keys from her album 'The Diary Of Alicia Keys'. It was number one on 17th December 2003. On this date there was brief panic when a test message from the National Weather Service was leaked by mistake: 'the Earth has fallen out of orbit and is plummeting into the sun'! In the regular feature 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face', tracks are played from albums by Nancy Wilson and The Judds.

In 'A Matter Of Life And Death' Paul celebrates the birthday of Boz Scaggs by playing his hit 'Lido Shuffle'. We also hear 'Let It Grow' by Eric Clapton as a tribute to Mack Emerman - founder of Criteria Studio in Mimai, where it was recorded. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'Lady' by Styx and a different song with the same title by Little River Band. Paul continues his countdown of the Top 100 list of songwriters based on success in the American chart from 1955 - 2005. We hear songs written by John Lennon and Brian Holland.

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1989 and this week by De La Soul and Tamar Braxton. We hear Country number ones from 1964 and now by Buck Owens and Florida Georgia Line. This week's featured past and present Rock number ones are by The Police and Zach Sobiech. 'Random Access Memories' by Daft Punk is the week's number one album. 'Can't Hold Us' by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton is the best-selling song of the week.
