Shelagh Fogarty is live from Aintree for the start of the Grand National Festival. It's an important year for one of the most famous horse races in the world, two horses dying in each of the last two years including last year's Gold Cup winner - Synchronised. It means that issues of horse welfare and jockey safety will be high on the agenda. The racecourse has been changed since last year's race, including the addition of some plastic fences to replace the old wooden ones and everyone is hoping for an incident free race in 2013.
Mick Philpott is jailed for life and will serve a minimum term of 15 years after he's found guilty of the manslaughter of six of his children in a house fire in Derby. His wife Mairead and his friend Paul Mosley are both jailed for 17 years.
And all eyes are on North Korea as the country threatens nuclear strikes against the United States.
