With help from some of the biggest names on the scene, DJ Cameo tries to identify the ten essential tracks that define the history of UK garage.

DJ Cameo wants to identify ten tracks which define UK Garage and he's asking 1Xtra listeners to help him!

Cameo wants to identify the music, the crews, the producers, the DJs, the MCs and the movements which tell the story of UK Garage - from its inception. through to the present day.

He needs to know which cuts are important landmarks for the genre and to break this down he hears from Ms Dynamite, Lethal B, Wiley, Craig David, Asher D, MJ Cole, Madam X, Matt Jam Lamont, Artful Dodger, DJ Sticky, MC Viper, MC DT, Oxide & Neutrino, Sabrina Washington, Syleena Johnson, Steve Gordon and DJ Ess!

Of course this is a programme that will be packed with good music. Throughout the show we'll be listening to suggestions for which cuts define UK Garage, so expect to hear club classics, crossover killers, and well known favourites, plus exclusive mixes to help remind us of the vast choice of hot tunes.

Along the way we hear about the roots of UK Garage, the roles played by the DJs & producers, pick out the people's favourite MCs & crews and name-check the female MCs and singers who took on the boys and won. We'll learn how the music first became popular on the Sunday club scene, before later finding a home on the holiday island of Cyprus, and especially in Ayia Napa. We'll discover how UK Garage progressed and spread to create the various sub-genres of today including Grime, Bassline and Dubstep.

Using #UKG10 on social media, listeners will get to tell Cameo which cuts they think help define a vital moment in the story of UKG. It might be the first UK Garage track to hit number one in the pop charts, it could be a tune that sums up the contribution that crews have played in making the scene, or maybe there's something from the ladies which defines UKG's softer side.

Whatever the reason, using #UKG10, listeners can tell Cameo which they think are the most important records, and why. This is not a Top Ten or a chart show. This is a chance for you to tell us which tracks sum up the story of the UK Garage scene and why!
