What鈥檚 it like to be the target of offensive sexist abuse? Cambridge classicist Dr Mary Beard found herself on the receiving end of misogynist insults on the internet and twitter, after her appearance as an expert panellist on last week.聽She joins Woman鈥檚 Hour to explain the impact of internet trolls, and why being targeted won鈥檛 keep her out of the public eye.

The Soprano is arguably the most highly-regarded interpreter of twentieth and twenty first century vocal music having given over 80 world premieres.聽She is releasing two new albums, including the world-premiere recording of Dutilleux鈥檚 Correspondances, and will be performing at the at the Southbank Centre.聽 She joins Jenni to discuss her singing career and why she has recently turned her hand to conducting.聽

Tina Renton can鈥檛 remember how many times her stepfather had raped her by the time she was 11. When the sexual abuse started, Tina just thought that was 鈥渨hat all dads did鈥 and it was only after a sex education class at school that she realised what he was doing was wrong.聽 She reported the abuse, but no action was taken. 聽As an adult, Tina studied law and used her knowledge to bring her stepfather to justice and he was sent to prison for abusing her.聽We talk to about her book, 鈥淵ou Can鈥檛 Hide鈥 which documents her battle to find justice.
