Living on the 'street of shame'
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Inside Out visits Pleasley Hill, a former pit village on the outskirts of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire in an area dubbed 'the street of shame' by local people.
Μύ
Run-down and boarded up, the Nottinghamshire village was once a thriving community until its pit closed in 1983. The village became notorious for drugs, deprivation and anti-social behaviour.
Μύ
A radical decision was taken to bulldoze some streets but many villagers are angry about the slow progress towards recovery and plans for new development.
