Mark Radcliffe presents Radio 2's new folk and acoustic show live from Salford Quays. This week, the acclaimed English singer, songwriter and musician Chris Wood introduces brand new "electric" material from his forthcoming album, None The Wiser.

With an instrumental style deeply rooted in the English folk tradition, the guitarist and fiddler has developed over the course of his career into one of the most celebrated songwriters on the British scene.

His powerful songs - sometimes romantic, sometimes devastating, always compelling - have earned him a number of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 Folk Awards, including Folk Singer of the Year twice and Best Original Song twice.

Next week's programme will feature a live session from legendary folk-rock pioneers Fairport Convention. And on Wednesday 30 January, Mark will join Julie Fowlis onstage at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall to host the 14th annual Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 Folk Awards. The event will broadcast live on Radio 2 from 7.30pm.
