A Look Back at 2012

Nigel Ogden presents highlights of 2012 and looks forward to notable events in 2013.

The programme hosted some fabulous guests during 2012 and on this week's extended edition we'll hear music from some of the year's best CDs and we'll be remembering a visit from international theatre organist Simon Gledhill. The man who was once Mr Hammond UK, Keith Beckingham recalls bringing the instrument to the UK and some unlikely places around the world and Professor Ian Tracey reveals the delights of being the longest serving organist at Liverpool Cathedral. We'll also hear from students of the Wurlitzer Academy at Rye College who also featured on the programme during a year which was as busy as ever for the organ world but which sadly also lost one its greatest players, Carlo Curley.
