In the feature Headline News [Number One Albums On Noteworthy Days] we hear Just You 'N' Me by Chicago from Chicago VI, which was number one on 28 July 1973. On that day the fifth biggest concert crowd ever saw a concert at Watkins Glen, New York with The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band. We also hear Exhale (Shoop Shoop) by Whitney Houston from the soundtrack to Waiting To Exhale. It was number one on 17 February 1996 - the day Garry Kasparov defeated the 'Deep Blue' chess computer as part of a six-game match.

In the regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, tracks are played from LPs by Etta James and Dan Fogelberg. In A Matter Of Life And Death Paul celebrates the birthday of Jerry Butler by playing his hit Ain't Understanding Mellow. We also hear Speedoo by The Cadillacs. It is played as a tribute to Earl Carroll of the group, who has recently died.

It's Not The Same Old Song highlights Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying by Ray Charles and a different song with the same title by Gerry & The Pacemakers. Paul continues his countdown of the Top 100 list of songwriters based on success in the American chart from 1955 - 2005. We hear songs written by Ellie Greenwich (Number 52) and Sam Cooke (Number 51).

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1987 - The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson - and this week - Adorn by Miguel. We hear country number ones from 1958 and now by Ray Price and Cassadee Pope. This week's featured past and present rock number ones are by Days Of The New and Fun.. Meanwhile Gangnam Style by PSY is the best-selling song of the week.
