We hear how a startling rise in the number of stray cats is being attributed to a growing number of pet owners abandoning them as they struggle with everyday bills during the economic crisis. The charity, say at the same time a number of amateur breeders has emerged leading to an unprecedented number of abandoned and feral cats. We visit their Bridgend centre where they're keen for people to adopt a cat and give it a home.
The on Llanddwyn Island has been a rubble strewn ruin for 60 years or more but as our Community reporter Huw Jenkins discovers visitors today would barely recognise it. He meets Graham Williams the Countryside Council for Wales, senior reserve manager for the local National Nature Reserve for a guided tour of the restoration in this most romantic places on the south east corner of Anglesey.
And finally - throughout the year on Country Focus, as the season's change we've been following Wyn Davies, the area warden for the National Trust in Carmarthenshire. Having started in winter and as the dark nights draw in we've reached Autumn at near Llandeilo.
