This week's show features an interview with one of his favourite rising British jazz stars, Shabaka Hutchings. Shabaka talks about his creative approach to improvisation and philosophies behind creating jazz.
Shabaka explains what we can expect from his concert at the London Jazz Festival. He will be performing with the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra and his band Sons Of Kemet, in a live Radio 3 broadcast.
An important figure of the British jazz scene, Shabaka performs on clarinet and saxophone with artists such as Charlie Haden and has recorded with Courtney Pine, Mulatu Astatke and Soweto Kinch.
