Deacon Blue are in session, and Beth Orton plays live

Deacon Blue have reformed for a new album The Hipsters. Ricky, Lorraine, Jim and Gregor from the band play live in the studio, plus Beth Orton is also back after six years.

Twenty five years after they released their debut album Raintown (an abstract love letter to Glasgow) Deacon Blue have reformed for a new album The Hipsters (a love letter to Deacon Blue), a nationwide tour (including an appearance for Radio 2 in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Theatre) and a back catalogue reissue programme.

Ricky, Lorraine, Jim and new recruit Gregor from the band perform an acoustic session in the studio and talk about working together again. They also remember the late Graeme Kelling - someone Ricky, who recently sat in for Bob, describes as the only hipster in the band.

Beth Orton is also back with her first new album in six years 'Sugaring Season' and a tour, she plays three songs live.

Beth talks to Bob about working with producer Tucker Martine (who has collaborated with The Decemberists, Laura Veirs and My Morning Jacket) and her influences, which include Pentangle, Bert Jansch and Roberta Flack.
