Jim is back in among the tomatoes growing in a variety of grow bag composts. After their 'dose of salts' last time, have they improved enough to enjoy a first crop from them?

Meanwhile, George takes a look to see how his precious show vegetables are getting on as they are hopefully headed for a show bench in September. He will also judge progress of his meadow mixtures and decorative grass trials.

Fragrance in the garden is evocative for everyone. Most would like to have fragrance in the garden and are often disappointed when modern varieties, for example of roses, sometimes don't have scent. Fragrance can set the mood of a garden. Jim, Carole, Lesley and George take a fragrant look at the garden and include some personal scented memories.

Carole is with Rachel Rennie in Westhill near Aberdeen. Rachel is looking to Carole for some inspiration for her new small back garden, which at the moment is only grass and gravel. Carole adds a fragrant, floral seating area to enliven it.

Carole also visits Caroline Smith's lovely garden in Farr near Inverness. Carole judged Caroline's garden last year in a gardening competition and was keen to return to see this stunning five-acre garden. There are woodland areas, cottage-style planting, herbaceous beds and rockeries, all tended by the enthusiastic and energetic gardener Caroline.
