The very best in folk, roots and acoustic music, including an interview with Scottish singer and musician Julie Fowlis, who talks about her involvement in the new film Brave.
Mike Harding presents an hour of the very best in folk, roots and acoustic music including news from the world of folk and the latest album releases.
This week, Mike's guest is the Scottish singer and musician Julie Fowlis, who talks about her involvement in the major new Disney-Pixar film, Brave.
Julie, who comes originally from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides and has long been celebrated for her traditional singing in the Gaelic language, has recorded two key songs for the film's soundtrack. Her version of Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird a' Chuan also accompanied the film's first American TV trailer, which aired during the Oscars ceremony and reached 40 million viewers.
Also tonight, Mike reminds talented young musicians how to enter the 2013 Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 Young Folk Award, which closes for entries on Friday 7 September 2012.
