British writer Bernardine Evaristo is the multi award-winning author of six books of fiction and verse fiction, including 'Lara', 'Blonde Roots', 'Soul Tourists', 'The Emperor's Babe' and 'Island of Abraham'. She co-edited the anthologies 'Ten: New Black and Asian Poets'; 'Wasafiri: Black Britain - Beyond Definition', and the British Council Anthology 'NW15'. She teaches internationally, and has been awarded the MBE for her services to literature.
