Susan Hulme reports on the proceedings at Westminster as MPs begin a two-day debate on Government plans to reform the House of Lords.
Faced with the prospect of a Tory rebellion, the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, insists the Lords is a flawed institution with no democratic mandate.
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Secretary says she is "confident" in Olympic security partners, G4S, amid reports that 9,000 security guards still need to be recruited and trained.
And the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, Paul Tucker, denies that any Whitehall officials or Government ministers ever encouraged him to "lean on" Barclays, or any other bank, to lower key lending rates.
