Clare English discusses the benefits of creative activity in later life, plus classical music for kids, and two childhood friends exhibit their art together for the first time.
Art and the Elderly - We all know it's fun to get creative, but how much do we know about the benefits of creative activity for the elderly? We sent Paul Saunders along to a 'Dance for Dementia' workshop in Dundee to see for ourselves. Anne Gallacher from Age Scotland joins Clare in the studio to give us an over view of the creative work being done with older Scots right now and to give us an exclusive insight into the Festival of Creative Ageing happening this Autumn.
The Art of Listening - As part of the Edinburgh International Festival's Music of the Millennium project, 'The Art of Listening' introduces children to creative ways of listening and exploring our inherent musicality through physical participation and exercises using music and the imagination. Bob Dixon caught up with a group of Edinburgh Primary 7s at one of these workshops to find out more.
Jenny Matthews and Janet Melrose - Two Scottish Artists who have been best friends since their schooldays are to exhibit together for the first time at the Union Gallery in Edinburgh. Janet Melrose and Jenny Matthews first met in 1976 when they were 11 years old at school. They decided then that they'd start their own art movement when they grew up and they have in fact followed very similar paths. They join Clare to talk about what it's been like to see their work exhibited in a gallery side by side for the first time.
