Following Marsden's warning, Phil decides that the only way to keep his family safe is to get away from Walford. A worried Abi asks Max to intervene when things become heated.

Roxy questions him and Phil nearly blurts out the truth about Ben’s crime. Phil realises someone deliberately disabled the car. Apoplectic, he confronts Jay, demanding he come home. Jay refuses and Max tells Phil to get out. Jay insists he can’t go home and Max allows him to stay. Back home, Phil blames everything on Ben insisting he sometimes wishes Ben had died in the crash with Kathy. As Phil swigs from a bottle of vodka, tears run down Ben’s face.
