In this episode, soaring gold prices see the pawnbrokers on the frontline of a new gold rush. Faye is in for a surprise when she sells some jewellery to help her daughter with the heating bills, while Jeanette is forced to dig deep into her savings to buy her son a gold chain.
We meet Dhan, who is so strapped for cash that he has to sell his wedding ring; trouble is, he has not told his wife. And Tariq is struggling to keep up the interest payments on his wedding gold. Meanwhile, Karl pays a visit to the smelting room to liquidate some assets.
