The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ SO in a live performance of Schubert's Symphony No 8 in a 'finished' version. Plus Schubert: Overture in D minor, D590; Overture (Alfonso and Estrella); Rosamunde.

The Spirit of Schubert continues in Afternoon on 3 with a Live concert from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Manze, featuring a completed version of Schubert's "unfinished" 8th Symphony. There's also the complete incidental music to "Rosamunde" with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Philharmonic. In between, we visit Tom Service to see what has been growing in the petri-dishes of the Schubert Lab. The programme ends with a recent Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Philharmonic recording of Schubert's music for the play Rosamunde, complete with the original overture played at the first performance.
