In session with Bob is one of Nashville's most widely respected and enduring figures, Vince Gill. A singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Vince Gill has recorded more than 17 studio albums, sold more than 26 million copies, won 20 Grammy's and 18 CMA awards. The two-time CMA Entertainer of the year is the only man to ever win five consecutive CMA Male Vocalist of the Year awards and the only songwriter to win Song of the Year four times. Those winning songs have included ' When I call Your name', 'I Still Believe In You' and 'Go Rest High On That Mountain' and in 2007 he became one of the youngest performers ever inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
A hugely respected guitar player, Vince has focussed on this aspect of his career in his latest album 'Guitar Slinger' which he recorded in his home studio and features guest performances from his wife Amy Grant and his three daughters. In a session recorded in Nashville last year Vince talks to Bob about his songwriting, his current musical direction and the 2010 Nashville floods in which he lost most of his guitar collection.
