Claudia speaks to Olivier Award nominated actor Iain Glen who is known for roles both on stage and screen, including Sir Richard Carlisle in Downton Abbey, and as Ser Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones. Iain is starring in a new production of Uncle Vanya; Chekhov's enduring masterpiece on frustrated longing and wasted lives, at The Print Room in London.
Ian McMillan performs two poems, plus he discusses Pure Gold: a 4x4 Relay Race - a movement in four 'legs' reflecting the different stages of a relay race with music by Luke Carver Goss and words by Ian.
Winner of the 2011 Costa Book of the Year Andrew Miller discusses his prizewinning novel Pure, which is set in a Parisian cemetery and has been described as "A structurally and stylistically flawless historical novel."
Giving the insider's view of Britain's best galleries, exhibitions and museums, the 'Tour Guide's Guide To Art' this week comes from Morpeth in Northumberland, as Claudia chats to Anne Moore, Museums Officer at The Morpeth Chantry Bagpipes Museum. Demonstrating that bagpipes aren't just a Scottish pastime, the museum traces the story of this musical instrument and highlights the different types of bagpipes available throughout the world.
Plus Judith Mackrell reviews the latest dance events, and Xan Brooks talks about this week's cinematic releases.
