Claire English celebrates the launch of The Written World, an ambitious project to broadcast poems from all the competing nations of the 2012 Games.

The Written World, an ambitious project to broadcast a poem from each of the competing nations of the 2012 Games, launches at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's Pacific Quay headquarters with a special recording of the Culture CafΓ©, presented by Clare English. The recording, which will be held in front of an audience, will feature Robyn Marsack, chief executive, Scottish Poetry Library, William Letford, a poet from Stirling who has gained notoriety for his verse based on his experiences as a roofer and a selection of readers performing poems from their native countries - reflective, funny, lyrical, passionate - giving a glimpse of their nation in verse.
