Michael begins to feel resentment towards Janine for ignoring his efforts for their baby - will her attitude drive him away? Lucy's plan to expose Mandy backfires.

Lucy’s invited ‘L’ to come at one o’clock. Ian’s hopeful when Lucy makes lunch, but quickly realises everyone’s forgotten his birthday. Mandy and Alfie whisk Ian to the Vic for birthday drinks and cake. Lauren persuades Lucy to let her text and stop ‘L’ visiting but it’s too late, ‘L’s’ coming to the Vic. Rushing to the pub, Lucy attempts to persuade Ian to leave. Lucy and Mandy argue and Lucy blurts out that Mandy’s having an affair. To Lucy’s dismay ‘L’ has arrived and turns out to be Lorraine Stevens –Mandy’s mother.
Michael joins Janine at the first time mums class. Janine’s disdainful to find Lola and Billy there. Janine’s disinterest in the class irritates Michael. When Michael insists she needs him, she offers Whitney a full time nanny position. Infuriated, Michael’s tells Janine he doesn’t want to be the baby’s dad on her terms, she’s on her own.
Zainab’s been summoned to see Yusef’s solicitor the next day. Denise’s nosy and is aghast when Zainab reveals she’s still officially in mourning for Yusef. Zainab won’t justify herself to Denise, who reminds Zainab Yusef’s actions left her homeless.
Jack chatting to Tanya and then joining them for lunch makes Max overreact. Guilty about Roxy, he rudely refuses Jack’s offers to throw Lauren an eighteenth birthday party, then accuses Tanya of being all over Jack. Tanya brings up Max’s affairs and he snaps; would she blame him? Tanya accuses him of not wanting her. He apologises, insisting he loves her and wouldn’t cheat.
While the Butchers’ bills are paid and the electricity’s back on, all their frozen food is ruined and they’re behind on the rent. With Alfie and Ian unable to offer her work, Bianca reluctantly accepts a cleaning job from Janine.
Jean decorates the Vic for St David’s day.
