Brian Matthew presents another selection of Sixties classics, rarities, facts, figures and trivia.

This week the music ranges from Marvin Gaye and Shane Fenton to Robin Gibb and Brook Benton. We hear the first white girl group to achieve a US number one, the sad story of Dickie Pride and why The Orange Bicycle never lived up to expectations.

The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ session track was recorded in 1969 by Deep Purple for Top Gear, just days before they recorded a version for commercial release. But how much were they paid for the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ session? There is also Cliff Adams' music The Lonely Man Theme composed as a jingle for a tv advert for a cigarette brand - the ill-fated Strand.

You can also catch tracks from The Kinks, The Four Pennies, Humble Pie, Dottie West and Jim Reeves, The King Brothers and The Honeycombs - just how did Joe Meek get that drum sound? Brian reveals all.

Join Sounds Of The Sixties for the stories behind the songs.
