Over 65 million albums have been sold by Brit School graduates including, Adele, Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse, Katy B, Jessie J and the Rizzle Kicks. 1Xtra presenter and Brit school graduate Gemma Cairney goes back behind the scenes at the performing arts school to find out how it has produced some of pop's most recent success stories.
What is life really like at the school? Does everyone really break into song and dance around in leotards? Gemma chats to current music students Elliot Welch and Scarlet Billham about life at the school and reflects on her time there, returning to the toilet where she first heard Leona Lewis singing and revisiting the infamous canteen.
Gemma also meets Brit School graduate Ladolla, who has just been signed by a major record label. They discuss what life is really like when you graduate from the Brit School and the hard work it takes to pursue a career in the music industry.
