Gina Yashere & Mary Portas - Laughing & Shopping
Graham once again comes live from New York, with guests comedienne Gina Yashere, and retail guru Mary Portas in London.
Graham was once again up early to present his second and final show live from New York City, with lots of coffee, pretzels, and the Postmistress of Pain Maria McErlane for company.
Graham's first guest was comedienne Gina Yashere, who has popped back to Blighty after making it big stateside, for a UK tour. Gina spoke about how she lost weight and the thrill of being able to buy skinny jeans, portraying a fake psychic on Jay Leno's TV show in America, and how she doesn't like to hang around with other comedians. Then after midday the Queen of Shops herself, Mary Portas, told Graham about her new TV show 'Queen of Frocks', which has seen her set up her own shop. Mary also spoke about the future of the British high street, and how she's helping Prime Minister David Cameron with ideas on how to tackle the problem.
Martin in Liverpool was responsible for this week's 'I Can't Believe It's Not Better' song, 'Deck of Cards' by Wink Martindale. And in Grill Graham, Clive in Preston was looking for advice because his father is due to have an operation and will be out of action for 6 weeks, but Clive's wife refuses to let him stay at their house while he recovers, and Eileen in Hammersmith had come to the end of her tether with her 18 year old son and his attitude, and how she's finding it harder and harder to live in the same house as him. Tough dilemmas as ever for Graham and Maria.
In 'Tune With A Tale' Roseann Kane from Nottingham chose the touching song 'Color Him Father' by The Winstons, and spoke about pulling tyres around a field while doing boot camp! Sounds like fun - not!
And once again, Bobbie had all the latest travel updates for the UK and New York - advice which last week didn't get through to New York cabbies unfortunately, as Graham found out first hand, as he headed straight into a traffic jam that Bobbie had warned us all about...
