The UK imports about 40 per cent of the food its consumes. Charlotte Smith learns how farmers and scientists are trying to increase production, as challenges to food security grow.

Charlotte Smith visits the Warwick Crop Centre to find out about work to increase vegetable yields, and quality, in the face of climate change and increasing pressures on food security. Currently the UK imports about 40% of the food consumed here, but a ComRes poll commissioned by Farming Today and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 1's Countryfile found that 88% of people said that the UK is too reliant on food from abroad.
