Brian Matthew rounds up more sixties hits, requests and rarities and looks back at this week in the sixties for the Chronicles.

Tracks featured in this week's edition include The Byrds, Joe Tex, Al Green, Cliff Bennett, Robert John, The Seekers, Curtis Lee, Peter & Gordon and The Jive Five. There is a short tribute to the late John Maus (John Walker of the Walker Brothers), a Double-A side from Louis Armstrong, and the Three-In-A-Row features tracks with surfing connections. In side two you can find out who the original Supremes were.

The Chronicles looks back to the opening of Psycho and asks what Janet Leigh was the first to do? Rudolf Nureyev defects to the West, the nuclear power station at Berkeley comes on stream, Liz Taylor's Cleopatra breaks a record, Nelson Mandela is jailed, and there's a strange case of vanishing acorns at Coventry Cathedral - why were John and Yoko involved? And 1969 was the last running start to the Le Mans 24 hour race - which Brit won?
