Dave explores the rave and acid house years, soul DJ Greg Edwards chooses his ultimate 12" and we catch up with one of Chicago house's founding fathers, Marshall Jefferson.

This week, Dave enters the age of rave and acid house, which took off in the UK around the time of the Second Summer of Love in 1988 and 1989. As rave parties told hold around the country, British dance producers came to prominence, with their music regularly crossing over from the raves to the charts. This week's show features highlights of the era, including music from S'Express, Coldcut and The Happy Mondays.

UK soul radio pioneer Greg Edwards chooses his ultimate 12", which takes him back to his DJing days in the late 70s at clubs such as the Lyceum or the Caister Soul Weekender. Back in the day, Greg's Soul Spectrum Radio Show was unstoppable, but which 12" soul record does it for him above all others?

Plus, one of Chicago house's founding fathers - Marshall Jefferson - looks back on the high points of his career. In 1986, Marshall secured his place in house music mythology with his track, 'Move Your Body (House Music Anthem)'. The first house track to use a piano riff, this set the trend for the genre for years to come, becoming a signature component in house music. Marshall has gone on to remix and produce countless house records, and was a founding member, alongside vocalist Byron Stingily, of the hugely respected house act Ten City.
