Russell returns to celebrate more great exponents of popular song. His featured artists include singer Rosemary Clooney and cellist Bernard Greenhouse.
After a little mention of the Beryl Reid documentary that he's working on - via Beryl's guest appearance on a Ken Mackintosh record - Russell links to Don Lang's Witch Doctor (Lang, as Gordon Langhorn, was one of the Mackintosh trombones).
The 60th anniversary of a Rosemary Clooney song is followed by tributes to three recently deceased musicians: Bob Flanigan of The Four Freshmen fame; classical trumpeter David Mason who played on The Beatles' Penny Lane; and distinguished cellist Bernard Greenhouse who as well as being a member of The Beaux Arts Trio was also a busy session musician - and we hear three recordings on which he was present.
The show is rounded off with some June connections in song - from Johnny Mercer, Bob Dorough, Bob Howard and Julie London.
