Chasing Waterfalls: The Legacy of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes
Trevor Nelson pays tribute to and explores the remarkable life of RnB star Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes of TLC, who tragically died in 2002.
Celebrating the life of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes on what would have been her 40th birthday, Trevor Nelson pays tribute to the TLC star who tragically died in 2002.
Lisa was prolific in her short career, releasing three platinum-selling albums and winning countless awards. But the road to stardom was anything but smooth for the young Philadelphia-bred Lisa Nicole Lopes, who faced an abusive father, bankruptcy, alcoholism and prison time for committing arson. And yet she went on to become a vital member of the group who released groundbreaking tracks such as Waterfalls, No Scrubs and Unpretty. Back in the early nineties, TLC set the tone for a new kind of girl group, crashing onto the music scene with their explicit attitude towards safe sex and female prerogative.
Now in their 20th year as a group, Trevor speaks to the remaining members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli, as well as the likes of Alesha Dixon, Melanie C and Wretch 32 - all of whom felt the Supanova effect that Lisa had on their lives.
