Mike Harding presents an hour of the best in folk, roots and acoustic music, including an interview with musician and producer Simon Emmerson.
Simon is known to many as the founder of Afro Celt Sound System and The Imagined Village. In his latest project, Fresh Handmade Sound, he's been commissioned to create four soundtracks to treatments in a chain of English health spas.
The soundtracks consist of traditional music laced with birdsong and other sounds recorded in the English countryside. The music is performed by specially-formed bands Walking with Ghosts and The Petrels, which feature some of the leading lights in English folk music including Jackie Oates, Belinda O'Hooley and Eliza Carthy.
