Episode 2
Celebrating Scottish gardens. The team mount Project Plant Rescue, Jim and Carole investigate the alternatives to peat, and Lesley begins her garden design masterclass.
In the second programme of the new series, the emergency team, Jim, Carole and Lesley mount Project Plant Rescue. They scan the garden for signs of life, or lack of it, administer CPR (current plant rescue) and where necessary implement some sad but mercy euthanasia.
Jim and Carole also continue to have a look at alternative growing media to peat which the govt are set to ban use of to the domestic gardener in the next few years.
Do you have a pear or apple, square or hour glass shape? Not women's dress shapes but gardens. Lesley begins a design master class mini series. Lesley has chosen four classic shapes of gardens that we are presented with and shares her 'off the peg' design solutions for the typical garden shape. Lesley will 'clothe' a garden each week and inspire us to use what we have rather than try and change. This week, long and narrow.
This year George is showing his precious daffodils at the Haddington Spring Show where he is back meeting and competing with old friends, who are going for the overall trophy. We follow George and chums as they get their little beauties ready for showing and find out who takes the prizes.
