In tonight's programme Bob Harris is in conversation with multi CMA and Grammy award-winner Alison Krauss.
Throughout a recording career which started when she was just 14, Alison Krauss has released fourteen albums both as a soloist and with her bluegrass band Union Station, and has collaborated with artists from a range of genres including Gillian Welch, Sting and Michael McDonald. Her 2007 collaboration with Robert Plant, Raising Sand won multiple Grammy and Americana music awards and was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize.
Alison Krauss is acknowledged as one of the leading forces behind the bluegrass revival of the early 2000s, contributing to the award-winning soundtrack O Brother Where Art Thou, and the subsequent Down from the Mountain live concert tour. She's also a respected producer of artists including Nickel Creek, The Cox Family, Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson. Over her 25 year career she has won 26 Grammy awards, the most for any female artist in music history.
She talks to Bob about her latest album 'Paper Airplane', recorded with her band Union Station which is released on Monday.
