AV Special

Victoria holds a mock election, using the present First Past The Post system, and the Alternative Vote method, to explore the options ahead of next month's Referendum.

Victoria holds a live radio experiment, holding a mock election in a single constituency with 5 live listeners as the voters. They get the chance to vote twice. Once using the current First Past The Post system, and again, using the suggested Alternative Vote system.

The aim is to explore the options ahead of next month's referendum, where we'll all get a chance to decide which method we want for our voting system. The same candidate won in both cases. Labour's Ruth Cadbury won using First Past The Post, and again, after 5 rounds of counting using the AV system, ending up with 49% of the vote.
