In session with Bob is a woman who Time Magazine described as 'America's Greatest Songwriter', Lucinda Williams.
Three-time Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams performed at the Americana Music awards in Nashville last September and joined Bob the day after the awards to record this session, previewing songs from her new album 'Blessed'.
Throughout her 30 year career Lucinda Williams has been a key figure in American roots music, embracing styles from folk and blues to country and rock. Her 1998 album 'Car Wheels on a Gravel Road' won her a Grammy, and her songs have been covered by artists including Mary Chapin Carpenter (Passionate Kisses) and Emmylou Harris (Crescent Moon).
In her conversation with Bob she talks about working with legendary producer Don Was and how her recent marriage (which took place in front of 1500 fans on stage in Minneapolis at the end of a gig) has affected her writing. She also plays two live songs from her new album.
