Brian Matthew, the voice of sixties popular music, presents the programme for all fans of the decade. With facts, figures and trivia as well as the Chronicles of the Sixties.

Brian Matthew presents the programme for all fans of the music of the 1960s. Tracks this week include Len Barry, Jimmy Powell and The Five Dimensions, Joe Tex, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan, Fleetwood Mac and there is a Three-in-a-Row from Helen Shapiro. And find out about Valerie Mountain and the Eagles. From Weston-super-Mare she only cut two singles but was in the original production of 'A Man Dies' - a rock version of the story of Jesus, some ten years before Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Chronicles remembers Dr Richard Beeching's second report on the railways and plans for a Channel tunnel, and John Lennon's driving test - big news at the time!

Sounds of the Sixties began in 1983 and Brian has been at helm since 1990, bringing to the programme his distinctive voice and unmatchable experience of sixties shows.
