John Wonnacott discusses his appointment as the first ever artist-in-residence on a major movie set. John's past commissions include a monumental portrait of the royal family which featured the first formal depiction of princes William and Harry.

Plus Claudia talks to the photographer Gered Mankowitz about his exhibition of prints of Jimi Hendrix in Manchester. Gered's photos were taken at a pivotal point in Jimi Hendrix's short career. The portraits capture the mystery and otherworldliness defining his public image, just as Gered's 1965-67 portraits of the Rolling Stones defined them as the antithesis of the Beatles. This Hendrix exhibition gives a clear insight into the real Jimi: relaxing upbeat, smiling and happy.

As a new stage adaptation of the cult French musical film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg opens at Leicester's Curve Theatre, we speak to the team behind the production and find out how a classic of French cinema has been re-imagined for the English stage.
