Jamie Cullum showcases his love for all types of jazz, and this week's show features the second part of his interview with the American jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, who turns 90 this month.
In a unique interview recorded at the 2010 Newport Jazz Festival, Jamie asks his hero all the questions he has always wanted answered, while sharing performance anecdotes and musical advice. Brubeck relates the story of the making of his seminal recording Time Out and remembers the surprising reactions it first received. Plus he talks about African music and how he tried to apply African rhythms to jazz time signatures.
In addition, three of Brubeck's sons take time out from a tour celebrating their father's 90th birthday, to perform in session for Jamie at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Maida Vale studios.
