Classic Brass

Frank Renton features some great classical pieces arranged for brass band and talks to Sue Hopkins about her transcription of the Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz.

Classical music transcribed for the brass band has long been a feature of the repertoire and tonight Frank Renton talks to Sue Hopkins about her new version of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. It was played recently by The Grimethorpe Colliery Band in Birmingham's Symphony Hall and their conductor Alan Withington talks about the challenges the musicians faced.
