Frank Renton presents the Cory Band and The Black Dyke playing at the recent British Open Brass Band Championships Sunday Gala.

Frank Renton presents music from the Cory Band playing at the recent British Open Brass Band Championships Sunday Gala Concert at Symphony Hall Birmingham earlier in the month. Glinka's famous Overture Russlan and Ludmilla is followed by the sensational tenor horn playing of Owen Farr in a piece written especially for him by Paul Lovatt-Cooper, ' An Untold Story'. Rodney Newton has had a long association with Cory and they play one of the earliest pieces to come from that collaboration, Echoes of the East. The programme ends with the inspiraitonal sounds of the massed bands of Cory and Black Dyke in Wagners Procession to the Minster from Lohengrin.
