Harry Mortimer Centenary Concert

Frank Renton celebrates the Brass Band Open Championship and Harry Mortimer who ran the event with great distinction as well as being the top cornet player and conductor of his age.

Looking ahead to this weekends 158th Open Championships Frank Renton presents a programme first heard 8 years ago that celebrated their 150th Anniversary and the 100th anniversary of one of our greatest cornet players and conductors whose family have run the event with distinction for many years Harry Mortimer. The concert took place in Birmingham's Symphony Hall and features several top bands, including Black Dyke, Cory and Harry's own Fairey Band.
