Hostile takeover bids, the increasing strain on business angels and the fortunes of the Edinburgh Festival. Presented by Graham Stewart.
Graham Stewart with the stories and issues making the news in business.
With recent talks about a Korean takeover of Aberdeen-based Dana Petroleum, we look at what happens when a company is the subject of a hostile bid. Mark Hynes of Transparency Matters guides our business and economy editor Douglas Fraser through some of the hurdles.
Research commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills has suggested that business angels are under increasing strain as they attempt to fill the gaps left by venture capitalists, who are migrating to larger deals. We hear from co-author of the study, Professor Colin Mason from the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship at Strathclyde University. Plus, Nelson Gray tells us how he became European Business Angel of the Year since 2008.
And Lisa Summers reports on what impact the economy is having on the Edinburgh Festival.
