Frank Renton presents current London and Southern Counties champions Redbridge Brass Band conducted by Jeremy Wise. They play Silverado, The Wizard, a Beatles classic and Elgar.
Redbridge Brass Band have just had a very successful third place in the French Open Championships, and they are London and Southern Counties area champions again. Following last year's victory at The Butlins Mineworkers Championships, the band are in something of a "purple patch". The perfect time then to record a session especially for the programme.
Conducted by Jeremy Wise they play a varied and exciting programme which includes George Allen's The Wizard, the march that won them the march prize at this year's French Open. We also hear the Scherzo from Shostakovich's 10th Symphony, Elgar's lovely Chanson De Matin, The Theme from the movie Silverado and a Beatles classic Got To Get You Into My Life. The programme is presented by Frank Renton.
