MPs debate the Government's plans to raise VAT as part of measures to tackle the budget deficit. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Secretary unveils proposals to review the UK's counter-terrorism strategy. Sir Alan Budd, the head of the Office for Budget Responsibility, rejects accusations of "naivety" over its forecasts for jobs and growth.
