Oscar Peterson Trio Archive Session
Jamie digs out an archive recording of the Oscar Peterson Trio from 1964 and selects a tune by South African jazz singer Letta Mbulu to celebrate the World Cup.
Jamie Cullum showcases his love for all types of jazz, and music rooted in jazz, from its heritage to the future.
This week's show features a recording of a live session hand-picked from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archives featuring the Oscar Peterson Trio performing Hallelujah Time! for Jazz 625 in 1964. The session includes Oscar Peterson on piano, Ray Brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums.
Plus, to celebrate the start of the World Cup, Jamie selects a tune by South African jazz singer Letta Mbulu. Every week during the competition he will find a football-flavoured track.
