The full story of Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton's incredible solo journey down the world's biggest river, in aid of Sport Relief. Helen has just six weeks to kayak 2010 miles along the full length of the Amazon. The programme traces her adventure, starting in a chilly British autumn, when Helen steps into a kayak for the first time in earnest. But when she arrives in South America, how will the training pay off?
Featuring tears, searingly honest video diaries, emotional struggles with the team and extraordinary images of some of the world's most spectacular scenery, this special edition of Blue Peter traces Helen's battle against sea sickness, tropical storms, a sinking boat and the constant threat of dangerous wildlife.
Plus she visits Sport Relief projects in both the UK and Peru, to see how the money raised helps transform children's lives.
