Russell Davies celebrates the popular song with a focus this week on Josef Myro, an unsung hero from The American Songbook. He also marks the 80th birthday of Marty Grosz.

Every Sunday Russell Davies presents the history of popular song, spotlighting its greatest exponents.

Much of this week's show is given over to a celebration of an unsung hero from The American Songbook: A little known name who wrote such classics as You Make Me Feel So Young, The Five O Clock Whistle and Autumn Nocturne, he is Josef Myrow.

Through one of Myrow's less celebrated works You Can Count On Me, Russell also manages to wave a flag for World Maths Day (March 3rd). We finish with a salute, on achieving his eighty years, to guitarist, bandleader and preserver of good ol' songs - Marty Grosz.
