Christmas gifts provide the principal impetus for Russell's weekly sound essay, in the shape of books by the pianist, songwriter, actor and controversialist Oscar Levant. We hear some of Oscar's compositions - Lovable And Sweet and Blame It On My Youth - the latter sending Russell on a discovery of the use of '"blame" by songwriters then and now.
